Optical Engineer

Develop fiber optic components from product conception to release to manufacturing. Work with optical engineering team in technical analysis and measurement as required to support development. Specify, select and qualify active and passive optical components, develop and benchmark system performance models, develop and implement test procedures, and evaluate and select appropriate test instrumentation. Maintain documentation of design and development process. A Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Optics, Physics, or Electronic Engineering is required. Requires a minimum of two years industry experience. PowerPoint and Excel required. Lab experience with optical characterization techniques, alignment, assembly and calibration. Optical spectral monitoring and laser knowledge. Experience in the use of commercial optical design software packages and modeling tools. Familiarity with Telcordia and ISO 9001 standards.
